Stereolithography (SLA) represents an innovative 3D printing technology that leverages photopolymerization to fabricate solid objects. This process entails utilizing a liquid resin that is sensitive to ultraviolet radiation. Upon exposure to a UV laser, the liquid resin undergoes solidification and transforms into a rigid material. This laser-induced curing proceeds layer by layer until the desired shape is formed.
Following the formation process, the object undergoes additional UV and thermal treatments to enhance its structural integrity and durability. The resulting parts exhibit precise geometries and a smooth surface finish.
Stereolithography is a fast and precise manufacturing method that is widely used to create prototypes, master patterns, and large concept models. Its high-speed operation and design flexibility facilitate rapid iteration during new product development. Moreover, stereolithography printers can fabricate intricate geometries that would otherwise be impractical or impossible to achieve using conventional manufacturing techniques.
