Carbon’s RPU 130 Rigid Polyurethane is a material designed for additive manufacturing using Carbon’s proprietary Digital Light Synthesis (DLS) technology. Utilizing this technology, Carbon’s RPU 130 offers high print accuracy with superior mechanical properties, including excellent stiffness, toughness, and impact resistance. It has a high heat deflection temperature of up to 120°C, meaning it can withstand high-temperature applications without degrading. Additionally, Carbon’s RPU 130 has a low elongation at break, which adds to its stiffness and stability. It is ideal for producing functional parts, jigs, and fixtures in various industries, including automotive, aerospace, and industrial manufacturing. Its ability to print complex geometries with high accuracy and repeatability makes it an excellent material choice for engineers and manufacturers looking to optimize their production processes and reduce costs while maintaining high-quality outputs.
Digital Light Processing (DLP) is a type of 3D printing that employs a UV-sensitive liquid resin cured through a digital light projector. Once the printing process is finished, our AM technicians thoroughly clean the part, remove any supports, and apply UV and thermal curing, if necessary.
DLP 3D printing is an ideal choice for projects that require high levels of detail and finishing in various production-grade materials. This technology can produce components with varying durometers and characteristics, ranging from supple silicone to rigid high-temp cyanate ester. It is beneficial for creating small end-use components, lightweight metal part replacements, functional, high-detail prototypes, jigs, and fixtures.
