Now accepting ITAR projects on Prototek IQ

Today I’m catching up with Mitch Eaton. Mitch’s team has developed Prototek IQ, Prototek’s proprietary instant quoting platform. Mitch, would you like to introduce yourself?
Hey, everyone. My name is Mitch, and I am the Director of Product here at Prototek. I work across different groups and organizations within Prototek as well as our customers to bring Prototek IQ to life.
What exactly is Prototek IQ?
Prototek IQ is an online digital manufacturing platform that connects customers who are looking to get instant quotes directly to prototype. Customers can upload their CAD files and drawings, we can configure their part files, and they can submit instant orders directly to Prototek.
It also offers things like online payments, a concise and easy way to keep track of all your quotes and orders, and it allows direct communication with our estimating team, engineers, and production.
Prototek IQ started with CNC machining and moved into sheet metal fabrication as far as quoting goes. You guys have been working on some other pretty cool things. What other capabilities does Prototek IQ offer?
Yes, currently Prototek IQ does offer CNC machining in both metals and plastics, as well as a wide array of surface finishing options. We also do everything from 2D sheet metal to 3D sheet metal, including again, a wide array of different materials and options.
Earlier this year, we launched its capabilities. So anybody who has ITAR, compliant files, it has the ability now to get an NC code or get an RFQ through the Prototek IQ platform. And we are also, CMMC 2.0 compliant.
Can you tell us a little bit more about what the future might hold for Prototek IQ?
IQ is constantly evolving, whether that’s through our state of the art machine learning dynamic pricing models, or whether that’s working with production to give customers the most real, up to date lead times based upon shop capacity and part complexity, or whether it’s hearing from our customers on how to reduce friction so that they can get their custom manufactured parts as soon as possible.
We love working with our customers, and we love receiving their feedback to help make IQ better.
