Powder Coating

What is powder coating?

It is a type of dry coating applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. The powder is typically made up of pigments, resins, and additives. It is electrostatically charged and applied to a grounded object. The charged particles in the powder attract the grounded object and stick to it, creating a uniform and durable coating. This process does not require solvents, so it is an eco-friendly alternative to liquid coatings. It is commonly used to provide a decorative and protective finish on metals such as aluminum, steel, and iron, as well as on non-metal items such as plastics and ceramics. The result is a durable, high-quality finish resistant to scratches, corrosion, and fading.

Our powder coating process:

Our process involves several steps to ensure the highest quality finish.

  1. The items are thoroughly cleaned and dried before pre-treated with a phosphate coating. This helps create a surface more receptive to the powdered coating.
  2. Then, the items are baked in an oven to remove residual moisture and create a smooth surface.
  3. Once prepared, the items are electrostatically sprayed with a dry powdered coating. This is a process where the powder is given a positive charge, and the component is grounded, which attracts the powder particles to stick to the surface uniformly. The coated items are cured in the oven, where the powder melts and fuses to the surface, creating a robust and durable finish.
  4. After the curing process, the items are inspected for defects or imperfections before being packaged and sent to the customer.

Our team takes pride in the quality of our process and is committed to providing the best-finished product to our clients.

Why choose powder coating for your next project?

It is a durable option offering several advantages over traditional liquid coatings. It provides a high-quality, long-lasting finish resistant to chipping, fading, and corrosion. It also provides an extensive range of color options, textures, and finishes, making it an excellent choice for decorative or functional purposes. Additionally, it is an environmentally friendly option, as it does not contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or solvents that harm the environment. It also produces less waste and has high transfer efficiency, resulting in lower material and labor costs. Choosing this process for your next project can provide excellent benefits, including superior durability and aesthetic appeal.
